I was contemplating resigning from the ambassador position
NULS is a project I really liked and while I'm not that active on the main channel anymore, I've made so many friends that I now deem BFF's in the crypto world
But over the past week or so I've been feeling kind of burnt out:
- My main ambassador project (nulscommunityforum.com) was not really taking off. I've given away 250 NULS to encourage people to post more. I've tried to recruit the more established and senior folks to bring in new members without much avail. I've tried to recruit people to help contribute their knowledge and articles but a forum with 30 members is hard to get people excited about, especially in a bear market.
In addition, half of me was uncomfortable as I felt that the objective of my forum was to compete for users from the official forum created by Moshe, someone I have a ton of respect for, so it was an emotional issue as for me well.
Being self-employed my entire working life, it honestly felt kind of shitty to have to write "reports" and getting judged by people, having people condemn the ambassador program and saying we're all useless etc etc. Not new to criticism in my line of work for sure but working for NULS without the title of ambassador carried alot more freedom and enjoyment. I've actually proposed a hybrid "Ambassador" + "Regional Partner" modification to the ambassador program here: https://nulscommunityforum.com/index.php?posts/197/
I've been pretty swamped with restarting and laying foundations to a couple different projects and a company I'm restarting. Have been attending whatever blockchain events that made sense to go, and to be honest, some of them were kind of a waste of time but yet I felt obliged to attend as I was getting rewards for being an ambassador.
Apologies that this is beginning to sound like a rant I'm being kind of personal here and writing so much about myself.
Long story short, since I'm sitting here writing this post you already know that I've decided to try to stay on as Singapore Ambassador.
- nulscommunityforum.com > After some chats with "very wise people", I learnt that a successful project having multiple forums was very normal. Heck, I never even knew about the existence of a giant forum (http://nuls.org.cn/forum.php) ! I do not need to be competing "against" Moshe. We are all fighting for the greater good for NULS. Even if my forum becomes a roaring success, it doesn't mean I would have taken users from the official forum. Instead of sharing the pie, I just need to grow my own pie.
In order to do that, I shall be using my skills as a digital marketer and shall be buying traffic from countries in Asia and sending people to the forum.
I plan to do airdrops as well, perhaps like 5 NULS for signing up to the forum and making one post. Initial funding will come from my ambassador node and if my experimentation proves scalable hopefully I can request for additional budget from marketing. Have purchased domain name nuls.asia for this purpose, and shall use my resources as an agency to introduce the beauty of NULS to Asia.
Accountability is a must for a role like this in its current form. I have been following the rules even though I have been slightly uncomfortable with them and I shall continue to do so but hopefully some of my suggestions could be considered. I shall do what's within my ability so as not to let down my supporters.
My own projects and business are my own responsibility obviously. One interesting thing I realized is that my involvement with NULS has actually opened some new doors which is leading to some interesting synergies between my ambassadorship and business. I look forward to exploring more opportunities and hopefully putting my network to good use and opening more doors for NULS in Asia.
So yes, I have decided to commit myself to being the best ambassador I could be.
That said, this post might be too little too late as there are only 5 days left in the elections and I'm not within the top 4.
I'm super touched though, that there actually are quite a few significant votes (totally unsolicited) so I'm glad my work is being recognized in a way, I've done zero "promotion" for myself lol.
So if you've read all the way till here, thank you very much, and I would really appreciate if you could cast your precious vote my way.
Every vote counts this late in the elections, and I would really appreciate any help I could get.
Bummer that I'm listed as "Singapore Ambassador @juggerno" as an election option when it should be "Singapore Ambassador @juggernot" instead but of course you guys already knew that, right? To vote for me, I'm Vote Option #2.
Excited for Binance Fair in January. Whether I get re-elected as ambassador or not, I shall be attending, and hopefully I'll see some of you guys there as well.
Heart-felt thanks again for my supporters, I will continue to work hard and do my best with the time I have for NULS.
Thank you for reading all the way
P.S. Quick guide on how to vote for me on the desktop wallet as I think it could be confusing for people:
Download or upgrade your wallet to 1.1.6 (btw if you haven't tried the automatic update feature i.e. Settings > 1.1.6 > Download, please try it, it makes updating super easy and fast)
In the Contract tab go to 'Access Contract' and enter the voting address NseQih5xZa6vAWsL6uY5drozyW4tqzQx
Choose 'vote' method then enter the voteId 3 and the voting 'itemids' that are numbers in brackets e.g. to vote for me. You may vote for up to 4 ambassadors. You can find the ids for the different ambassadors here: https://nuls.world/apps/vote#/3
