Hi to all,
Thank for you giving me the opportunity to serve the Nuls community this month. I have tried to follow my initial goals for the month as soon as I got the news for ambassadorship and here is what I achieved for Nuls this month. I try to will attach all the pictures and documents in a separate post as after typing for 5 minutes and trying to post a pic, my browser just crashed. ( welcome the the African reality). So back to business:
Nuls Blockchain Africa ambassador program.
STEP 1: CREATE A COMMUNITY OF 500+ PEOPLE IN AFRICA.
I have created a facebook platform for Nuls Africa @ https://www.facebook.com/nulsblockchainafrica/
We have grown our regional community from 100 to over 200 organically this month by sharing valuable articles / videos on the Nuls ecosystem and blockchain in general.
STEP 2: SET UP A PROFESSIONAL IMAGE.
With the permission of the Nuls Community, I designed and printed a “Nuls Ambassador” Business card that I use as my main tool during meetings. I hope I can attach pictures in another post.
STEP 3: SETTING UP A REGIONAL BASE.
Regional Events that I would attend as Ambassador for networking and to represent Nuls Blockchain:
1)- Blockchain- From Zero to Hero.
Blockchain by IAME.
Wednesday, 3 October 2018
at 6:30 PM
Vivea Business Park
I actually went to that meet up and made a few good contacts. Iame is a blockchain start up in the kyc / aml field and already building on the qtum platform. I met a guy from belgium named Jonathan Evrard to whom I shared my passion for Nuls and after a few meetings, he and his brother in law want to apply for Begium, Netherlands and Luxemburg ambassador. He is in the process of working his program soon but like me he is having trouble accessing the community website. I must say he is by far the best contact I made this month.
2)- CHAIN REACTION in Johannesburg on 15th October, #ChainReaction, sponsored by Luno.
Presentations by leading South Africans in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space; Vinny Lingham, Riccardo Spagni and Marius Reitz.
Going to chain reaction in johanesburg was like a kid going to disneyland with so many attendees (probably over 300 people) with such a mature crowd. Very interesting talks made by civic and monero. Made a lot of contacts of people who have never heard of Nuls but that made it even more interesting. I met a guy who is part owner of a small exchange and also the reserve bank of south africa committee for blockchain regulation. Also touched base with the organisers who might want to do a joint event with them. We are still in the talking phase for now. Nothing concrete yet. The guy's name is Paresh Daya.
I also attended another event on IOT locally in Mauritius and met one of the few blockchain dev in Mauritius. He was actually a speaker that night and told him about the Nuls Dev program and said he would look into it. His name is Suyash Sumaroo and i currently freelancing for earth token.
STEP 4: ORGANISING LOCAL INFORMATIVE EVENTS.
I did not organize meetings with the dev community as I am still networking (online and offline) to find them. Also , I honestly need some more technical background to be able to talk to them.
2)- The Business / Entrepreneur community so as to explain the Nuls Agent Node / Staking mechanism so as to show them the investement opportunity that is the Nuls tokens, Nuls staking and Nuls Agent node.
I have met about 5 people individually to talk blockchain in general and nuls in specifically , some are in IT and some in finance. The best lead I got is John Li, a friend of my family , who is an ex senior partner at KPMG luxemburg, now semi retired. He is new to blockchain and he agreed to stake 2000 nuls tokens as part of a portfolio that I am helping him with.
With the encouragements of @reaper , I wrote a very Non technical personal vision of how my life could change with blockchain in the next 10 years entitled "Why the worlds needs Nuls... NOW". It has more of a non fiction novel that might appeal to "every day joes" like me. Here is a link to it:
I started the program on the 3rd october and have incurred all the expenses from my pocket. I have spent in excess of usd 2000 this month ( I hope i can load all the docs / pics / invoices in the next post). The reason being that I not a dev guy and that until now have not been able to setp up my ambassador node. I am for sure faulty for getting that red card, as after reflection we probably made some stupid mistake when importing the packing address on my wallet. So my funds are blocked for 2 months now so all I can do for now is attend local events here in Mauritius. If you guys decide that I can still contribute to the Nuls community, please show your support. I really did my best for Nuls this month and if still possible still willing to continue. If you guys can think of a solution for me all the better. In any case I will still contribute to the Nuls project in ways that I can.
